Sull’Eufrate

Between Tell Abyad and Aleppo the Euphrates flows. On a spur was built Qal’at (fortress in Arabic) Najm. That ‘s the view enjoyed from above:

The custodian, as well as guidance, is called Jassim. After offering me a glass of water and a few puffs of shisha (narghile’) took me in:

On a side the ancient village stood, whose inhabitants used to refuge in the fortress in case of attack:
