Il luogo di culto musulmano, la moschea, ha un atmosfera molto diversa da quella a cui siamo abituati “noi” cristiani.
La chiesa, infatti é luogo di raccoglimento ed il silenzio, anche al di fuori, é fondamentale.
La moschea invece é innanzitutto luogo di incontro e relax. Gruppi di amici e famiglie si adagiano sulle stuole nel cortile a chiacchierare, rilassarsi; e anche a dormire. Ed é facile vedere bambini che giocano a rincorrersi o addirittura a pallone. E la preghiera? All’interno, che comunque raramente ho trovato silenzioso come quello di una chiesa.

Mosque life
The Muslim place of worship, the mosque, has an atmosphere very different from what “we” Christians are used to.
The church is in fact a place of meditation and silence, even outside, is crucial.
The mosque is instead first a meeting and relaxing place. Groups of friends and family lies on the crowd in the courtyard for a chat, relax, and even to sleep. And it is easy to see children playing tag or even football. And the prayer? Inside, even if I have rarely found the same silence as in a church.
