E` qui che termina

Dopo aver attraversato varie grandi capitali europee (Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest e Belgrado) e dieci Paese, il Danubio, il fiume navigabile piu` lungo dell`Unione Europea nonche` il secondo in assoluto del continente sfocia nel mare, a Sulina, ai confini con l`Ucraina.

Ed e` proprio qui che arrivo, dopo circa 3 ore di battello da Tulcea, in questo piccolo paese che vive di pesca e turismo.

Dopo essermi fatto “accalappiare” dalla prima signora che al porto mi offre dove dormire (non avevo voglia di perder tempo cercando di qua e di la`) mi avvio alla spiaggia, a circa un chilometro. E il primo pensiero, all`arrivo, e` stato: “che acqua scura!”. E certo, cretino, e` il Mar Nero!

After going through various European capitals (Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest and Belgrade) and ten countries, the Danube, the most navigable river along the European Union as well as the second biggest ever of the continent, ends into the sea at Sulina, on the border with Ukraine.

And it is precisely here that I arrive after about 3 hours by boat from Tulcea, in this tiny town that thrives on fishing and tourism.

After I did “take” by the first lady who gives me the port where to sleep (I didn`t want to waste time looking here and there) I am going to the beach, about a mile. And the first thought, upon arrival, has been: “how much the water is dark!.” Of course, you fool, that`s the Black Sea!
